Hibernia College wins UK e-learning awards

Hibernia College has won silver and bronze awards at the UK e-Learning Awards 2009, presented by e-Learning Age Magazine, the UK’s leading publication for online and blended learning. The awards are held each year to showcase the latest developments and innovations in the area of e-learning. The awards ceremony took place on November 12th in London’s Sheraton Park Lane Hotel.

This year Hibernia College won silver in the “Best use of synchronous e-learning” category (beaten only by Lloyds Banking) and bronze in the “Best online or distance learning project” category for its Higher Diploma in Arts in Primary Education.

Hibernia College shortlisted for e-Learning awards 2009

Hibernia College has been shortlisted in four categories at the UK e-Learning Awards 2009, presented by e-Learning Age Magazine, the UK’s leading publication for online and blended learning. Last year Hibernia College won a silver medal at the awards for its online M.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Medicine and this year hopes to go one better.

The four categories in which Hibernia College has been shortlisted are: Best online or distance learning programme (for its Higher Diploma in Arts in Primary Education); Best use of synchronous e-learning; e-Learning industry award for outstanding corporate achievement; e-Learning industry award for outstanding individual achievement (for Dr. Seán Rowland, Hibernia College President).

Hibernia College offices win architectural award

Hibernia College’s new offices on Lincoln Place have won an award at the Architectural Association of Ireland Awards 2009. The building, adjacent to the College’s existing offices on Clare Street, was designed by McCullough Mulvin Architects. The awards aim to encourage higher standards of architecture throughout the country, to inform the public about emerging directions in contemporary architecture and to recognise projects that make a contribution to Irish architecture.

Hibernia College Wins Silver at International e-Learning Awards Ceremony

Hibernia College, with its pharmaceutical industry partner, Pfizer, has won recognition for its international online Masters in Pharmaceutical Medicine.

The prestigious award was presented at a glittering ceremony held on November 6 2008 at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in London. The event was an occasion for the who’s who of the e-learning industry to celebrate progress since the millennium (coinciding with the founding of Hibernia College) in the take-up and impact of e-learning on business performance.

News: Hibernia College Wins “e-Learning Company of the Year” Award – February 1st, 2007

On February 1st, Hibernia College Dublin beat off stiff competition to win the title of “e-Learning Company of the Year” at the Digital Media Awards ceremony held at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin. The awards have been recognising excellence in the field of digital media since 2003.

Hibernia, a HETAC (Higher Education and Training Awards Council)-accredited third-level online college, was founded in 2000 and has formed partnerships with Pfizer, NUI Maynooth and Canterbury Christ Church University to develop online courses in Pharmaceutical Medicine, Hospitality Management and secondary school teacher training respectively.

It is, however, probably best known for its primary teacher training programme, which has now grown to the point where the College is the largest provider of primary school teachers in Ireland.

All of Hibernia’s courses blend the latest online learning technology with face-to-face tutorials and, in the case of the Higher Diploma in Primary Teaching, classroom teaching experience and time spent in the Gaeltacht.
