The full story

The programme intends to address shortages of Maths, Physics and Chemistry teachers in England by providing a more accessible path to becoming a fully qualified teacher. It is a national programme delivered locally through a combination of online lectures and tutorials, face-to-face tuition and school placement experiences organised through the programme’s national network of hub schools. Trainees will be able to access the online elements of the programme in a flexible manner, thereby enabling them to study to become a qualified secondary teacher whilst maintaining other personal and professional commitments.

We are looking for highly motivated individuals capable of becoming great teachers of Maths, Chemistry or Physics. They may be recent graduates or highly motivated professionals changing careers. We don’t expect our trainees to know all there is to know about their subject as our programme offers subject knowledge enhancement as standard. However, we are looking for individuals who have significant experience of their chosen subject, gained through earlier academic achievement and/or real life experience. They must also be interested in learning more about their subject and a have a willingness to work hard to build up their knowledge to the level required.

This is a challenging programme but will give participants access to flexible e-learning with support from subject specialist mentors. They will also have the opportunity to work in some of the highest performing schools in England. If you are thinking of changing careers and feel your place is in the classroom, find out more by contacting us at the details below.
