Course Structure

The programme is a blend of synchronous and asynchronous online learning, face-to-face tuition and professional practice in a school setting. The programme provides a high level of cohesion between theory and practice. The taught programme and the School Experience are structured to complement each other and provide maximum opportunities for development of trainees’ skills, knowledge and understanding. The online content focuses on the exploration of theory relevant to practice, and the School Experience focuses on the implementation of theory, ideas and strategies through teaching practice.

The programme consists of four main components as depicted below:

ITT Courses Structure

This programme is a blended learning programme meaning that a range of teaching and learning methodologies are deployed to create an integrated learning and development experience that enables trainees to attain the programme learning outcomes.

Integration of the online content, which focuses on the exploration of theory and practice, and the School Experience modules, which focus on the implementation of theory, ideas and strategies through teaching practice, is embedded throughout the programme. Trainees are continuously asked to consider the application of what they learn online in their school settings. And, vice versa, during School Experience trainees are asked to improve their professional practice through interpretation of what they have learnt online.
