Teaching Approach

The teaching approach is context-driven and enquiry-based, with problem-solving being at the heart of each session. Science and Mathematics topics are approached in real-life contexts as far as possible in order to encourage trainees to think rather than simply accept knowledge and to look at what may be familiar subject knowledge in a different way and, therefore, develop a better understanding of their subject. The sessions take a constructivist approach, requiring trainees to actively participate in their own learning, undertake research, solve problems and analyse data. This helps trainees to model the pedagogic approach that has been proven to facilitate learning in the classroom.
