For the latter, Jean was awarded the National Children’s Strategy Research Scholarship as well as the Government of Ireland Post-Graduate Scholarship. During her studies at UCD, Jean served as an undergraduate tutor in the School of Information and Communication Studies and has since, for more than a decade, lectured in the MLIS programme. Her principal experience of post-primary education in Ireland has been as a Research Development Officer for educational support services. This role began with the Junior Certificate School Programme, continued with the National Behaviour Support Service and consequently as a member of the National Council for Special Education Support Service. During this period, she worked with school communities to promote evidence informed practice and facilitated teacher as well as student action research projects throughout the country.
Jean’s research interests include educational inclusion, the promotion of positive behaviour for learning, teachers’ continuing professional development and student well-being.
