Biography
John is a lecturer in Primary Education in the School of Education, Hibernia College. John worked as a primary school teacher from 2011-2018 before taking a full-time secondment role with the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST). John spent three years working as an advisor on the digital-technologies team (primary), where he was responsible for the implementation and dissemination of the Digital Learning Framework and Digital Learning Planning Guidelines to school leaders, digital technologies coordinators and all other teachers through national seminars and workshops, webinars, online supports, direct school support and professional learning communities. John was also involved in the pilot digital portfolio initiative (primary) and the digital communities of practice from 2019-2021.
Research interests
John’s research interests include social-emotional learning, arts-based narrative inquiry research, student voice and agency, and digital technologies for teaching, learning and assessment.
