Job Purpose:

Hibernia College now seeks to recruit a Digital Designer to continue to drive high standards and push the digital design envelope. The successful candidate will work as part of a growing e-learning development team contributing to the development and compilation of interactive online learning resources using digital technologies.


  • Design and develop visual components of high-quality interactive e-learning content with cutting-edge graphic and motion graphic resources
  • Create responsive, cross-browser, mobile-first designs with the focus firmly on the user experience
  • Work as part of the digital design team to create the next-generation visual standards for Hibernia College
  • Drive standards in the development and production of high-quality video resources
  • Record, edit and enhance audio assets for course development
  • Stay current with the latest A/V software and hardware technologies
  • Work with the Digital Learning Department to design and update course templates
  • Keep up to date with course development, UDL and Web accessibility standards
  • Assist in the design, development and updating of VLE and website environments
  • Contribute and adhere to in-house development guidelines and project plans



  • At least 3 years’ relevant industry experience combined with a recognised relevant third-level qualification
  • Experience with e-learning authoring tools (e.g. Articulate 360, including Storyline)
  • Expertise in creating and editing static and motion graphics with tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud suite
  • A good understanding of UX design theory and practice
  • Experience using audio and video production software and hardware
  • Exceptional creative flair and a passionate and innovative approach to design
  • Excellent visual communication and illustration skills
  • Strong IT literacy in Microsoft Office productivity tools
  • Fluent English
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively independently and within a collaborative team environment


  • Prior experience of e-learning/multimedia content development
  • Experience with CSS, XML, HTML and Web development tools
  • Experience in planning, designing, managing and executing needs assessments for multimedia development
  • Experience with AR and VR technologies
  • Experience with Moodle
