4-year Early Childhood Education

We have developed a 4-year Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education that will provide you with a strong foundation for the holistic development of young children.

Together we explore the ‘fingerprints’ of childhood and imagine the possibilities of what little hands and hearts can do. This course was designed with early childhood professionals and the children they educate in mind.

Do you have a Level 5 in Childcare or Early Childhood Education and Care? – And are you currently working in an early education and care setting and have experience with 0–8 year olds? Then this innovative Level 8 QQI-accredited blended learning Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Early Childhood Education is the programme for you.


This Early Childhood degree is for you if:

  • You have a Level 5 qualification on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) in Childcare/Early Childhood Education and Care.
  • You are 23 or over on 1 January 2021 -or- meet Leaving Certificate requirements (more information here).
  • You have experience working with 0-8-year olds in a Tusla-registered setting (e.g. early childhood teacher, assistant, childminder, childcare workers, room leader, nanny, health care assistant).
