New ECE Degree Launches
The Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Early Childhood Education degree launches at Hibernia College. We anticipate welcoming our first cohort in autumn 2021 and are currently accepting applications.
Designed in partnership with educators and practitioners in the Early Learning and Care (ELC) sector, the B.Ed. (Hons) in Early Childhood Education addresses pressing professional development needs with the successful Hibernia College model of flexible blended learning.
Practising and aspiring early years professionals with a Level 5 in Childcare, Early Childhood Education and Care or a cognate degree such as Nursing or SNA can now earn a Level 8 degree while continuing to work with young children.
Study While Working
The flexible programme allows participants to study while working. Face-to-face tuition is coupled with online engagement and mentoring. Professional placements are completed in TUSLA registered childcare settings.
Practitioners will be equipped with new skills and knowledge for their workplace that are based on the latest research in early education and care, special education and inclusion and diversity in early intervention.
Philosophy of Care and Support
Rooted in a philosophy of care and education, this Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education is for people who are passionate about enhancing the education experiences of very young children and their families.
The programme respects the current workforce plan and is structured to enhance the professional standing of the early childhood practitioner to early childhood educator.
Designated placement educators and peer mentors provide support over the four-year programme. Participants will graduate as holistic, highly competent and research-engaged educators.
