Making a decision on which College to attend is not an easy one and should not be taken lightly. Whether you’re applying for an undergraduate or postgraduate course, it’s a good idea to do plenty of research before you decide on which College will suit you best. The most effective way to do this is in person at an Open Day.
Why? Let’s take a look at the main advantages:
You may already know which course you want to embark on and an open day will give you the opportunity to speak to enrolment advisors where you will acquire more information on what the course offers.
If you are undecided which route to take, you will gain a better understanding on which course is best suited to you and what you will achieve at the end of it.
Ask about the structure of the course – what are the compulsory components? Do they offer the optional units that are necessary for your career path?
Meet Other People
Attending college for the first time can be extremely daunting. An open day gives you the chance to meet lecturers and will also give you the opportunity to meet people who are in the same boat as you, so you might even make some new friends before you join.
If you’re happy with the course, and the staff and service offered, ask yourself: Is it somewhere you could settle into and enjoy? What appeals to you about the environment?
Only you can decide whether the course is the right fit for you, go with your instincts and if you like what you see and feel comfortable, then it’s probably going to be the right College for you.
