Eligible students, can receive 80% funding towards tuition fees, with a further 10% refunded on completion of the programme via the Nurturing Skills Learner Fund (NSLF).

Study from home — and work in your local community with our BEd (Hons) in Early Childhood Education. This is a 240-credit (NFQ Level 8) or a 180-credit (NFQ Level 7) option, QQI validated blended learning programme where students participate in a variety of face-to-face and online engagements.

We are delighted to share there is now funding available for eligible students for our Autumn 2025 Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Early Childhood Education.

Funding criteria includes the following:
1. Be working with children in a Tusla-registered Early Learning and Care (ELC) or School Age Childcare (SAC) service,​
2. The service in which the applicant is working in, must have a current signed Core Funding contract with DCEDIY.​
3. Applicants must have worked within an ELC or SAC service for the six months prior to their application.
4. Have applied to an eligible programme.

Entry requirements

  • 18 years of age on 1 January on the year of entry
  • Leaving Cert (or equivalent) minimum grades*
    • H5 in 2 subjects
    • O6 or H7 in 4 additional subjects including O6/H7 in Maths and O6/H7 in English

*Leaving Cert is not required if you are over 23

Know if you have an offer within 10 days after your application interview! You can even apply and receive a conditional offer before sitting your Leaving Cert. Once your online application is reviewed and deemed to meet all other entry requirements, you’ll be called for an interview. If successful, you’ll be issued a conditional offer, pending the outcome of your results.
