Mathematics at Hibernia College
Teach students how solve problems in mathematical and real-world contexts
Do you want to teach Maths?
Mathematics is the study of abstractions, logical arguments, deduction and calculation. Mathematics is all around us, helping us uncover patterns that impact every aspect of society.
With your enthusiasm and passion for Mathematics you can bring students on a journey across the study of data and chance in Statistics and Probability, to the world of triangles and shapes in Trigonometry and Geometry, as well as helping to shape their understanding around Mathematics and its connections and applications to everyday life. You will help students prepare for their future in a variety of contexts where problem-solving will be necessary.
Hibernia College offers Mathematics as a Teaching Subject in the Professional Master of Education (PME) in Post-Primary Education and is the largest initial teacher education provider in Ireland.
Do you have a Level 8 degree in Mathematics?
You must have an undergraduate degree at Level 8 or higher on the NFQ, which has an ECTS weighting of at least 180 credits. Prior teaching experience is not required to apply.
Do you meet the Teaching Council requirements?
You will be required to complete and submit a Subject Declaration Form (SDF). Check to see if you meet the requirements for the Mathematics SDF.
