Why did you choose teaching and why Hibernia College? 

I decided on teaching because I taught my son during the pandemic and he was really struggling and I really saw how hard things can be for pupils. 

What field of work or study were you in before you started your PME?

I worked in the charity sector but I was at home for a few years with young children. 

Can you tell us a bit about your research project and why you focused on this area?

I focused on picture books and how they can help children to learn about themselves (SPHE myself strand). this is because of my own experience of reading books with my children. 

Now that you have graduated, what are your plans?

I just want to work continuously in a local school. I am ready! 

What piece of advice would you give to any person considering starting a PME?

Just do it. It’s tough but there is support in Hibernia and with your classmates. go for it
