Hibernia College Practice Placement Partner Resource

Practice Placements

Practice Placement forms an integral part of the BSc Nursing programme, representing 50% of the undergraduate nursing programme. The development of skills, knowledge, professional behaviour, and attitudes represents a key component in the undergraduate nursing students’ attainment of competence to practice as a registered nurse (NMBI, 2017). Thus, practice placements aim to facilitate and maximize learning by providing students with learning opportunities that support the development and achievement of their competencies. Hibernia College collaborates with health service providers in the public and private sector across Ireland to provide these practice placements. All our practice placement locations are audited to assess and ensure their suitability as quality clinical learning environments as per the NMBI standards and requirements for programme approval.
