About the
MSc in Corporate Governance

The Master of Science (MSc) in Corporate Governance, is a Level 9 programme (worth 90 ECTS credits) and was developed jointly by Hibernia College and Accountancy School.

The programme is intended to specifically accommodate those who wish to work full-time while also studying for a QQI and CGIUKI recognized award. The part-time nature and blended model of delivery make this programme particularly suitable for learners seeking a more flexible postgraduate option.

The MSc in Corporate Governance is a two-year, part-time programme, delivered in a blended format and designed to meet the education and professional training needs of those in the corporate governance and compliance profession.

This programme is designed primarily to provide a learner with the knowledge and skills to act in a professional capacity as advisor to the board of a company and/or other similar organisations which also leads to professional accreditation.

The programme is a collaboration between Hibernia College and Accountancy School validated by QQI, and has been professionally Accredited by the Chartered Governance Institute UK and Ireland (CGIUKI). Upon successful completion of the MSc graduates will be awarded GradCG status.

Entry Requirements

The programme will has a minimum entry requirement of a lower second-class honours, 2.2 or equivalent, award in a bachelors’ degree at NFQ Level 8 in any of the following areas legal studies, business organization, accounting, finance, or management. Learners from disciplines with a partial alignment may be accepted at the discretion of the Programme Director. Applicants who do not possess a degree in any of the above areas should contact advisor@hiberniacollege.net for further guidance.

Tuition Fees

The programme’s tuition price is €4,750 per year or €9,500 over the two years.

On acceptance of place: €1,000 deposit. 

  • First instalment (before course begins):€ 3,750
  • Second instalment (approx. 10 months later): € 4,750

Other Fees

Other fees payable over the course of the programme:

  • 1.7% Learner Protection Charge: This charge is incurred to finance arrangements required under Part 6 of the Qualifications and Quality Assurance (Education and Training) Act, 2012 to ensure protection of enrolled learners and is applied to each fee instalment 
  • QQI Certification Fee: A QQI (Quality & Qualifications Ireland) Award Fee is applicable in the award stage of all QQI programmes. The applicable QQI Award Fee for the MSc in Corporate Governance is €20
  • Graduation Fee: The current fee for attending the graduation ceremony is €125. 
  • Recognition of Prior Learning Fee: Where applicable, fees for processing RPL application are €150. The fee is payable at the time of submitting the RPL application and independent from the programme application fee Supplementary Fees: There is a list of supplementary fees that cover additional services in relation to the programme, which will be available to view on the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) from the commencement of the programme.

How to Pay Tuition Fees

The application fee is paid online and must be paid in full before an application can be processed. Tuition fees are to be paid by bank transfer.

Applicants who intend on obtaining employer sponsorship for the purposes of fee payment should complete the form supplied with their offer email to facilitate direct invoicing.
