Biography

Dr Annemarie Doran is an Assistant Professor in Education (Post-Primary) in Hibernia College. She has been teaching since 2002 at post-primary level and has also lectured part-time at third level in Maynooth University and Trinity College Dublin.

Annemarie holds a Bachelor of Education (Home Economics and Irish), a Master of Education and a Doctor of Education (Educational Leadership). She was awarded the first ever Early Career Research Award by the Educational Studies Association of Ireland (ESAI) in April 2022, which recognises the significant contribution that early career researchers make to educational knowledge and practice, both in Ireland and further afield. She was also a recipient of the John Coolahan Research Support Framework, enabling her to strengthen the link between research, policy and practice while collaborating with other stakeholders in education.

Annemarie was involved in a pilot project with Maynooth Graduate Office in partnership with the Department of Social Justice and Protection in January 2022 where she developed and facilitated a module on wellbeing and resilience.

Research interests

Annemarie’s research interests include leadership and wellbeing, teacher wellbeing, action research and educational policy.
