Biography
Emma Tynan is a dual qualified general and paediatric nurse. She graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing Science Degree (General) from the University of Galway in 2014. She later completed a Higher Diploma in Children’s Nursing through Trinity College Dublin. She has held posts in CHI at Temple Street, Tallaght University Hospital and Portiuncula University Hospital. In Portiuncula University Hospital, she worked as part of the Nurse Practice Development Team and spent time as a Clinical Placement Co-ordinator supporting nursing students in practice. She completed her Masters in Nurse Education through the University of Galway. As part of her Master’s Degree, she completed a primary research study examining Nursing Students Experiences of Online Learning During the Covid-19 Pandemic. The results of her study have been presented at both national and international conferences in nurse education. She is passionate about the professional and academic development of nursing staff and students, and thus the provision of safe care to patients.
Research interests
Emma’s main research interests are in the field of nurse education and blended learning.
