Biography
Kate is an Assistant Professor in Nursing and joined Hibernia College in 2022. She is a Registered General Nurse and a Registered Nurse Tutor. She completed her Bachelor of Science in General Nursing from Dundalk Institute of Technology. She has over ten years of clinical nursing experience. Her main area of expertise is in perioperative nursing. She has done extensive world travelling and has worked as a nurse in Ireland, England and Australia.
She has a passion for teaching and completed her Master of Health Science in Nurse Education from the National University of Galway. As part of her master’s degree, she carried out a primary research study on Lecturers’ experiences teaching online during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has a special interest in innovative teaching and the student experience.
Research interests
Kate’s main research interests are in nurse education, online learning, perioperative nursing and the student experience.
