Introducing the Wellbeing in Education Module

In today’s fast-paced and high-pressure educational environments, wellbeing is no longer a ‘nice-to-have’ — it is essential for learners, educators and entire school communities to thrive. That’s why our Master of Arts in Education programme includes a dedicated module on Wellbeing in Education, designed to equip educators, leaders and practitioners with the knowledge, strategies and tools to prioritise wellbeing at every level of teaching and learning.

This module goes beyond theory. It provides a holistic exploration of wellbeing that combines cutting-edge research, practical strategies and reflective practice, ensuring that participants can make a meaningful impact in their own educational contexts.

The module is structured around key themes that address wellbeing from multiple perspectives:

  • Introduction to wellbeing in education
  • Factors influencing learner wellbeing
  • Creating supportive learning environments
  • Supporting educator wellbeing
  • Wellbeing across educational contexts
  • Partnerships and community engagement
  • Assessment and evaluation
  • Personal wellbeing and self-care

By engaging with this module, you will deepen your understanding of how wellbeing shapes teaching, learning and leadership and develop the confidence to integrate wellbeing into your daily practice. You will also acquire strategies to support both learners and colleagues, creating a ripple effect across your educational community. This module is designed for educators, school leaders and education professionals who are committed to creating environments where both learners and educators can thrive. Whether you work in schools, higher education, adult education or community programmes, the insights gained will be directly applicable to your context.

Wellbeing is not a peripheral concern — it is at the heart of effective education. By enrolling in this module, you will join a growing community of educators who are redefining success in education to include not only academic achievement but also flourishing, resilience and human connection.
