Hibernia College faculty members have been nominated for Teaching Hero Awards, which celebrate outstanding teachers in higher education. All of the Hibernia College Teaching Hero Award nominees teach on the PME in Primary Education and PME in Post-Primary Education programmes.
The Teaching Hero Awards are Ireland’s only national, student-led awards for those who teach in higher education. The awards are organised by the National Forum in collaboration with the Union of Students in Ireland and other student unions nationwide.
Teaching Heroes are nominated by individual students who submit a short personal piece detailing the ways in which their teacher is innovative or inspiring, and why this teacher deserves to be recognised as a Teaching Hero. The awards provide the opportunity for students to publicly celebrate teachers who have positively impacted their education.
Mary Kelly, Head of School of Education at Hibernia College, shares the good news of this year’s nominees:
Congratulations to all of our colleagues on their award. It is wonderful to see students recognise and appreciate the hard work of faculty, particularly given the challenging and difficult year we have all had. Well done to all!
We are thrilled to see our talented and dedicated faculty members receive national recognition for promoting excellence in higher education. Congratulations to our Teaching Hero Award nominees!
